Frequently Asked Questions
The most frequently asked question, How long will it take for my carpets to DRY?
With the DRY FOAM EXTRACTION SYSTEM your carpets will dry in 2-3 hours GUARTEED! The foam used doesn’t reach the backing or padding, like other wet (STEAM CLEANING) processes.
I’ve heard that once you clean a carpet it gets dirty quicker. Is that true?
Not with JC’s DRY FOAM PROCESS, The crisp, brittle residue from our DETERGENTS will not attract soil to the fiber after cleaning. This prevents RESOILING & preserves carpet Beauty. Other process’s leave a sticky, waxy residue that will attract soil to carpet fibers after cleaning. The result? Rapid RESOILING, leading to a dull dirty carpet appearance.
Does carpet protector really work?
Absolutely, Carpet protector is an outstanding product that JC’s highly recommends. In fact, most new carpets have protector on it applied by the carpet manufacturer. However, protector wears off because of foot traffic & normal wear & tear.
Why does DRY FOAM EXTRACTION out shine the competition? (MAINLY STEAM CLEANING)
THE DRY FOAM SYSTEM uses Brushes, 10% Low Moisture Foam that doesn’t reach the backing of the carpet & extremely DEEP SOIL EXTRACTION. Steam Cleaning doesn’t use brushes & is constantly over WETTING carpets. Our customers are always telling us horror stories.
Why is vacuuming important?
The most important thing you can do to keep your carpet looking great is to vacuum it thoroughly & frequently, particularly in high traffic areas. Vacuuming helps remove dirt particles which dull the carpet’s appearance & damage the carpet fibers. Also, use walk off mats at entrances to minimize dirt being tracked onto the carpet & to reduce soil accumulation.
I know regular vacuuming is important. What type of vacuum should I use?
A good vacuum cleaner is extremely important in prolonging the life of your carpet. Almost any vacuum cleaner can remove surface dirt, but only a quality machine can effectively remove the soil that’s embedded in the pile. We recommend using a vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush or beater/brush combination that agitates the carpet pile to loosen embedded soil.
How can I maintain my new carpet warranty?
There is 3 key things to do to maintain your new carpet warranty: 1. Vacuum frequently 2. Clean spills promptly 3. Have periodic professional carpet cleanings
Why is professional cleaning important?
When vacuuming no longer removes all of the soil, or you have not been able to remove spots following the recommended carpet care & cleaning procedures, it’s time to have your carpet cleaned by a trained & qualified professional cleaner. At JC’s, we know the latest information on carpet construction, carpet care products, & safe, effective cleaning methods to help maintain carpet beauty. For this reason, we recommend, & most carpet manufacturers warranties require, periodic professional cleaning.
How often should my carpet be cleaned?
We recommend professional cleaning at least every 6 to 12 months, depending on traffic & pets.
I’ve heard it’s best to put off having your carpets cleaned as long as possible, is this true?
No, In fact, many of the major carpet mills today recommend professional cleaning at least once per year. The build up of soil in your carpet in combination with foot traffic creates abrasion that breaks down your carpet’s fibers. The higher the traffic in a given area, the more often the carpet will need cleaning.
